6-1-18: Willy McDonald has donated this Wood Duck carving for auction at the June 23, 2018 Greater Wall Lake Association’s Annual Member’s Meeting. Proceeds from this auction will go to the Greater Wall Lake Association's Preservation Fund at the Barry Community Foundation. Thank you Willy!

This Wood Duck is carved by renowned local duck carver Willy McDonald. Willy McDonald is recognized nationally for numerous Best of Show Awards including Ohio Decoy Carving and Collection Show, North American Decoy Championship, North Western Michigan Decoy Show, The New Orleans "Best in the Gulf” Championship, and The Ward Foundation's “Chesapeake Challenge.” In 2007 Willy was the winner of the Michigan Heritage Award. In 2011 and 2013 Willy was honored by the Ward Foundation and National Endowment for the Arts as a Master Artisan and Instructor. Willy has taught duck carving classes for decades.

5-30-18: Professional Lake Management has identified and treated invasive Eurasian Milfoil in Wall Lake. The yellow areas on the map are locations of Eurasian Milfoil. We have more Eurasian Milfoil this year than last year - slight to moderate amounts. Last year we had trace amounts. Currently this is the only aquatic invasive species in Wall Lake. The Greater Wall Lake Association is determined to do everything in our power to minimize the transfer of aquatic invasive species into Wall Lake.

4-2-18: FROM JIM DULL, BARRY COUNTY DRAIN COMMISSIONER - NOTICE of Meeting of Board of Determination regarding Wall Lake and Shallow Lake Drain Districts on Monday April 16, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Hope Township Hall. The purpose of this meeting is for the Board of Determination to determine if the Drain Commissioner's proposed improvements to the Shallow Lake Drain are necessary and conducive to the public health, convenience, and welfare of the residents of Barry County and Hope Township. 3-13-18: FROM JIM DULL, BARRY COUNTY DRAIN COMMISSIONER - NOTICE to Hope Township Residents on Wall Lake and Shallow Lake Drain Districts: There will be a public meeting for the Wall Lake and Shallow Lake Drainage Districts on March 13, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at the Delton Moose Lodge, 5420 Moose Lodge Drive, Delton, MI 49046. The purpose of the public meeting is to discuss flooding and possible resolutions with the Drain Commissioner and consulting engineer.
